Authorities today declared Tk 1 lakh bounty on information leading to capture of the culprits who “are secretly setting Hindu homes on fire” in Brahmanbaria’s Nasirnagar.
The bounty is being declared on the streets of Nasirnagar, where the Hindu community is passing petrified days in face of the spate of hate attacks on them.
“Miscreants are secretly torching Hindu property,” said Mizanur Rahman, superintendent of district police. “Tk 1 lakh will be awarded on information leading to their capture.”
Police have offered anonymity to the informants and have asked to call them up at these numbers: +8801713373724, +8801713373725, +8801713373727, and +8801713373733.
It started with an alleged Facebook post that triggered Islamists to vandalise at least five Hindu temples and ransack over a hundred houses of the minority group on October 30.
